For Those Senior Students Who Need Funds to Attend College

Funding Education Beyond High School: The Guide to Federal Student Aid is a comprehensive resource on student financial aid from the U.S. Department of Education. Grants, loans, and work-study are the three major forms of aid available through the Department's Federal Student Aid office. Funding Education Beyond High School: The Guide to Federal Student Aid tells you about the programs and how to apply for them.

The 2006-07 version of the Guide, which covers July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007, is available in both English (PDF and HTML) and Spanish (PDF and HTML).

The 2007-08 version of the Guide, which covers July 1, 2007 to June 30, 2008, is now available in English (PDF).

Joe's Tip for the Day: Think Grandparents

If you do this already, bravo.  However, if you aren't inviting your students' grandparents into your classroom and getting them involved, you really need to begin.  Grandparents love their children (sometimes even more so than their own children).  Unlike their children, grandparents have a lot more time and discretionary resources.  Who better to spend it on than their grandchildren?  Next time you need to raise some funds---think grandparents.  You'll be happy you did and so will they.

Have a good week.

Joe
